Young Arab Leaders and In5 Tech successfully hosted a special event to commemorate International Women’s Day, under the theme ‘Behind Every Successful Woman Is Herself: You can have it all but can you do it all alone?’, on the evening of 7th March 2018.

The event garnered over 50 enthusiastic attendees, men and women of diverse backgrounds. A keynote address followed by a panel discussion with a Q&A and a networking session were key components of the event as YAL and In5 Tech brought together a unique panel of distinguished female leaders from various industries.

Rekha Setpal, Head of Partnerships at In5 Tech under the TECOM Group, welcomed attendees and speakers alike, inviting them to make the most of the discussions ahead.

Mona Tavassoli, CEO of Mompreneuers ME, got things to a flying start with her keynote address on ‘You can have it all’. She shared her first-hand experiences and knowledge gained over the years about female entrepreneurship, advising attendees that having it all does not necessarily imply that all aspects of life need to be perfect. Further, she proposed that the true meaning behind ‘Having it all’ varies from one person to another and encouraged attendees to discover their true passions and pursue the same.

The keynote address was succeeded by a keenly awaited panel discussion titled ‘Can you do it all alone’, moderated by Helen Al Uzaizi, YAL member and CEO of BizWorld UAE. Lucy Chow, Director of Women’s Angel Investor Network (WAIN), Medea Nocentini, Co-Founder and CEO of Consult and Coach for a Cause – (C3), and Arushi Joshi, the Founder and CEO of AtCash Inc, together constituted a stellar panel of speakers.

The panel speakers discussed a range of issues and challenges women often face while working on their own and explored ideas as to how women can address these challenges, working towards making a positive social impact. The speakers emphasized on values like self-belief, hardwork and resilience and proposed the fact that while the path to success is never easy, the essence of success is self-contentment. Finally the speakers enjoined all attendees to outline their goals clearly, implement ideas and therefore embark on meaningful career journeys.

An interactive Q&A session was part of the panel discussion to help attendees have their questions answered. Finally, an open networking session concluded the evening.
