The Young Arab Leaders (YAL) is a network of Arab men and women who have demonstrated the power of action in their own lives, reached unprecedented levels of success for their age, are positive and can look beyond today’s difficulties towards the vision of a prosperous Arab future. These leaders are currently in prominent positions of responsibility and strive for extraordinary achievement. YAL believes that their efforts today will have an impact on their communities, countries, region and the larger world. This will be achieved through the 4 key Initiatives that YAL has embarked upon to develop – Leadership, Education, Entrepreneurship and Dialogue Exchange.

 OUR HISTORY

YAL is an independent, not-for-profit organization, founded in 2004 at the World Economic Forum in The Dead Sea under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

 OUR MISSION
YAL’s mission is to bring global opportunities and worldview to the youth of our Arab world and take forth our region’s exceptional human capital to broaden their horizon and make them global leaders in their chosen fields. We will devote our time, energy and knowledge to the development of the Arab world.

We intend to spread modern leadership values and foster the development of future Arab leaders. We will contribute to the development of the region through a set of results-driven initiatives around the most pressing issues facing our world today. We will work to help bridge the awareness gap between the region and the rest of the world.

  OUR LOGO
This logo symbolizes the aspirations of every young Arab leader to inspire the next generation. Just as ancient Arabia had given the alphabet system to the old world, the Young Arab Leaders of today are aspiring to bring about important changes in today's world.

The YAL logo is based on the earliest true alphabet known to human civilization - the cuneiform alphabet system of the Ugarit civilization. Designed to the script of the cuneiform alphabet system, the 22 triangular shapes represent the 22 Arab nations in the Arab League. The dot in the centre depicts Young Arab Leaders as the centre of focus and an identity surrounded and nurtured by all 22 nations.
